St. Norbert Farmers Market is moving off of Pembina Highway and onto the internet for the winter months.

The market, which typically closes for the winter, is launching a website to link local producers and artisans with Manitobans who want to buy their products online.

On the new website, which is set to launch on Sept. 20, market vendors will list their products online and customers will be able to make orders for later pickup.

Customers will be pick up their goods at an indoor site in St. Norbert, according to officials with the farmers market.

Locally produced meat, honey, preserves, eggs, seasonable vegetables, baked goods and crafts will all be available on the website.

The online market will open before the farmers market ends for the season, so the first pickups will be at the outdoor market site. The websitewill remain open year-round.

The market fundraised to come up with the money to launch the site, which has been in the works since the spring.
