Seniors missing after leaving Neepawa hospital found safe, RCMP say

An elderly couple who disappeared after leaving the hospital in Neepawawere found safe by a local farmer, Manitoba RCMP say.

Vera Barber, 83, picked up her husband Gerald, 92, from the Neepawa Health Centre around 2 p.m. on Saturday.

On Sunday, RCMP said they received a report that the seniors were missing from the community, located about 170 kilometres west of Winnipeg on Highway 16.

Search teams went out looking for the couple in the area and around 8 p.m. were located by a local farmer.

RCMP said the couple had gotten stuck on a rural road and remained with their vehicle until they were found.
