Here's how Red Dress Day will be marked in Winnipeg

Hundreds are expected to march throughout Winnipeg's downtown on Sunday to mark Red Dress Day, a nationally recognized day observed annually on May 5to raise awareness for missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit people.

Hundreds are expected to march throughout Winnipeg's downtown on Sunday to mark Red Dress Day, a nationally recognized day observed annually on May 5to raise awareness for missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit people.

The fourth annual MMIWG2S+ Walk for Justice is expected to start at 6 p.m at The Forks' Oodena Circle, a news release from the Southern Chiefs' Organization said.

Marchers will make their way toward to the Manitoba Legislative Building.

Speakers, drummers and dancers will also be at The Forks for an event at noon, where people affected byMMIWG2S+ will share their stories, the news release says.

A graduation powwow is also planned at the University of Winnipeg at 12:30 p.m.
