Pond searches for Thelma Krull continue in Winnipeg

For the second day in a row, Winnipeg police divers are scouring ponds in the city's northeastfor any sign of Thelma Krull, who has been missing since July 11.

Divers waded into the waist-deep waters of pondsat Kilcona Park and in the Sun Valley Park areaon Thursday, searching through the reeds and feeling for any evidence of the missing 57-year-old woman.

Krull was last seen at her home in the north part of Transcona on the morning of July 11, as she set off on a hike toward Chief Peguis Trail.

When she did not show up for her grandson's birthday that afternoon, her family became concerned and called police.

Police and community searches have not found Krull to date, although police did find a pair of eyeglasses, which they believe are hers, on the grounds of the Valley Gardens Community Centre.

Dive teams searched for Krull at the two locationson Wednesday.

Police describe Krull as 5'-4" tall and weighing 170 pounds with short dyed-blonde hair with a purple streak.

Security video footage indicates she was wearing black capri-style pants, a reddish-orange shirt, hiking boots and glasses on the morning she went missing.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service missing persons unit at (204) 986-6250.

Police are still asking anyone with security cameras installed outside their homes and businesses in the area where Krull was last seen to review any video recorded between 7 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on July 11 and call police if they see anything that could help in the case.
