Teen charged with 2nd-degree murder in 2022 house fire homicide

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a homicide that happened more than two years ago, connected to a fire atNorth End Winnipeg home.

A 19-year-old man ischarged with second-degree murder in a homicide connected to a North End Winnipeg fire that happened more than two years ago.

The manwas 17 at the time of the homicide.

In April 2022, police responded to an early morning house fire on Flora Avenue near McKenzie Street. Authorities found the body of a 30-year-old man during a search of the two-storey house.

His death was a homicide, officers said the following day. The victim was later identified as Steven Andrew Mingo.

Police are still looking for two people who were in the area around the time of the homicide, they said Thursday in a news release about the arrest.
