All Manitoba highways reopened following blowing snow closures

All Manitoba highways closed due to blowing snow Sunday have been reopened.

All Manitoba highways closed due to blowing snow Sunday have been reopened.

Blowing snow and poor visibility had resulted in the shutdown of Highway 75 from the U.S. border at Emerson north to Winnipeg. The roadway was reopened shortly after 5 p.m.

On Sunday afternoon, Highways also closedHighway 23 from Morris to Highway 336.

Earlier Sunday, the Trans-Canada Highway fromHeadingleyto Portage la Prairieand highways 3 and 13 were also closed, but have since been reopened.

Environment Canada's forecast for Emerson calls for winds gusting between 60-80 km/h throughout the day. While the sky will clear, a light snow that fell early Sunday will continue to be blown around.

Winds are expected to calm in the area Sunday night into Monday morning.
