A video game that's good for you?

That's what a Winnipeg-based company has created.

Optometrist Michael Nelson and the Winnipeg game development company Project Whitecard are behind a new innovation in treating amblyopia or lazy eye.

The game is called EyeTrain and it works to help train both eyes to work together a treatment that Nelson says is more fun for children than eye patches.

Up to five percent of the population is affected by amblyopia.

EyeTrain was debuted at aVision West Expo in Las Vegas last week, placing 4th in the best new product category.
