16-year-old in custody following liquor store robbery

A 16-year-old boy is in custody following an armed robbery on Main Street in Winnipeg.

Teen accused of stealing merchandise from store, property from patron

A 16-year-old has been charged with three counts of armed robbery using a firearm, one count of disguise with intent, six counts of pointing a firearm and one count of possession of a weapon after a liquor store robbery in Winnipeg.

A 16-year-old boy is in custody following an armed robbery on Main Street in Winnipeg.

The youth was armed with a handgun and hadconcealed his identity when he confronted security staff and several patrons of a liquor store around 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, police allege.

He stole merchandise from the businessand personal property from apatron before running away, they said.

Police said theyfound a suspect around the riverbank near the Redwood Bridge, where he was arrested.

The teen has been charged with three counts of armed robbery using a firearm, one count of disguise with intent, six counts of pointing a firearm andone count of possession of a weapon, among other charges.
