RCMP seek driver who injured teen in hit and run in RM of St. Clements

RCMP are looking for the driver of an SUV involved in a hit and run that injured young teenage girl in the rural municipality of St. Clements last week.

RCMP are looking for the driver of an SUV involved in a hit and run that injured a young teenage girl in the rural municipality of St. Clements last week.

Police responded to a report of the incident on Old River Road in the rural municipalityabout40 kilometresnortheast of Winnipegat about 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to a Monday news release.

Two young teens were on the road one walking and the other on a scooter approaching the intersection of Danko Drive when a vehicle that had stopped nearby started to move and struck the girl on the scooter.

Police say the vehicle stopped and the driver rolled down a window, but then left.

The girl who was hit was taken to hospital, treated and released.

The vehicle is described as a black SUV or car with tinted windows. The driver is described as a man in his 20s or 30s who was wearing a baseball cap.

Anyone with information on the hit and run is asked to call Red River North RCMP at 204-668-8322.
