Forks riverwalk reopens after flood debris, mud cleared away

The Forks' riverwalk, which was under floodwaters for most of the spring, has been cleared and reopened to the public.

95 cubic metres of material about 15 dump truck loads was removed

The Forks' riverwalk, which was under floodwaters for most of the spring, has been cleared and reopened to the public.

Parks Canada has completed its clean-up ofthe paththat runs along The Forks National Historic Site, according to a news release.

A contractor was hired to removesediment and debris left behind byspring. flooding. Nearly 95 cubic metres of material about15 dump truck loadswas removed.

In addition, 220 cubic metres of gravel was brought in and spread on the walkway to replace the gravel washed away by the high water.
