FIFA soccer officials 'excited' about Winnipeg

The next FIFA Women's World Cup is still be two years away but excitement is building and preparations arewell underway in Winnipeg.

The city is one of sixCanadian locationsthat willhost the soccer tournament.

OnWednesday,a number of delegates from FIFA and the national organizing committee, visited Winnipegto scope out thehotels and facilities, including the main site for matchesInvestors Group Field.

Officials said they were impressed by what they saw.

"Excellent. It was great," said Peter Montopoli,the organizing committee'sCEO.

"Everyone, from the FIFA perspective, was very excited."

The FIFA Women's World Cup soccer event is held every four years. The 2015 event is expected to attract over one million spectators across the country,and millions of viewers worldwide.
