The annual winter festival the largest in Western Canada is set forFeb. 13-22. This will be the 46th version of the long-standing party.

Every winter since 1970, the festival has transformed a corner of Winnipeg's French Quarter into a celebration of voyageur, Metis and First Nations histories.

With the backdrop ofFort Gibraltar, the festival'straditional music, cuisine, costumes,snow sculptures and displays blacksmiths, furs, a trading postbring the past to life.

Activities include horse-drawn sleigh rides, a toboggan slide, snowshoeing tours, rolling maple syrup, a beard-growing contest,concerts and dances.
