Christian Artuso captures photos of elusive wolverine while doing bird research in northern Manitoba

A Manitoba conservationist and ornithologist with Bird Studies Canada said it was a once in a lifetime experience coming face to face with a wolverine.

Christian Artuso was documenting breeding birds in northern Manitoba when he saw an animal coming towards him.

That's when he pulled out his binoculars and camera.

"Stunned, kind of amazed, kind of had to catch my breath, said Artuso. You know I had never seen one before, longed to see one for many years, so that was quite a treat."
