The annual and colourful Run with the Chiefs is afoot in Winnipeg's Point Douglas neighbourhood, and it's the final time for one of those chiefs.

The annual and colourful Run with the Chiefs is afoot in Winnipeg's Point Douglas neighbourhood, and it's the final time for one of those chiefs.

The annual and colourfulRunwiththeChiefsis afoot in Winnipeg's Point Douglas neighbourhood, and it's the final time forone of those chiefs.

The fun run, featuring police Chief Devon Clunis and Manitoba NDP MLA Kevin Chief, kicked off at9a.m. on the grounds ofNorquay School at Euclid and Lusted avenues.

Hundreds of school children arerunningwith the chiefs, school staffand other people from the neighbourhood "to create and strengthen relationships" and build abetter, stronger and safer community for everyone, states a news release about the event.

More than 300 runners in total areexpected to participate.

It will be the last one for Clunis, who is set to retire at the start of next month.
