Canada's Paralympic wheelchair curling team unveiled

While Canada's best curlers are battling it out in Winnipeg for a chance to go to the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Canada Paralympic wheelchair curling team is ready to go.

The four members of the Paralympic squad were introduced at the Olympic Curling Trials in Winnipeg on Friday.

The team consists of three veteran wheelchair curlers, including skip Jim Armstrong, lead Sonja Gaudet, and second Ina Forrest.

There are two relative newcomers: alternate Mark Ideson and third Dennis Thiessen, who is from Crystal City, Man.

Thiessen also was part of the world championship team that won last March in Sochi, but this will be his first Paralympics.

"It's a dream that I never imagined that would ever happen to me," he told CBC News.

Team Canada's first game in Sochi will be on March 8 against Great Britain.
