Child luring investigation leads to charges against Brandon man, police say

A man has been charged in connection to a child luring investigation in Brandon.

Brandon police said a man started communicating with a teenage girl through text messages and convinced her to meet with him earlier this month.

Police were notified of the meeting and as a result of what occurred when the two met, a 20-year-old Brandon man was arrested and charged on Thursday with sexual assault, luring a child, sexual interference and sexual exploitation, Brandon police said Friday.

The man was released on conditions and will appear in court in July, police said.
