3rd man arrested in death of man shot with assault rifle

A third man has been arrested in the death of a Winnipeg man who was gunned down with a military-style assault rifle at a West End home six months ago.

A third man has been arrested in the death of a Winnipeg manwho was gunned down with a military-style assault rifle at a West End home six months ago.

Pierre DavidContois, 21, was charged by Winnipeg police on Nov. 10 with first-degree murder and cruelty to animals. He is the third person linked to the homicide.

RaymondDucharmeand ShawnPoitra, both 25, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder on May 14.

Two days earlier, police were called to a homein the 600 block of Wellington Avenue nearAgnes Street. George Prieston, 29, was found with wounds to hisupper body and rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

He was pronounced dead shortly after.

A dog belonging to Prieston was also found shot and had to be euthanized due to its injuries.
