Advance voting begins for Winnipeg civic election

Winnipeg voters who want to cast their ballots ahead of the Oct. 22 civic election can do so starting today.

Advance voting will be available at 27locations, but just a handful are available starting Monday morning. More will open later in the week and still others next week.

The locations include 15 community and leisure centres, six shopping malls, four post-secondary institutions, Indian andMetisFriendship Centreand a trade show at the ViscountGortHotel.

Eligible voters have the opportunity to cast ballots for mayor, city councillorand school trustee.

Advance voting will end at4p.m. on Oct.17.

The following locations are the first to open for advance voting:

• Winnipeg Square

Sept. 29 to Oct. 1: 9:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m.

• Red River College (Notre Dame)

Sept. 30 and Oct. 2:9:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m.

Oct. 1:12:30 p.m. 6:30 p.m.

• University of Manitoba (Conference & Catering Room)

Sept. 30 and Oct. 2:9:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m.

Oct. 1:12:30 p.m. 6:30 p.m.

• Kildonan Place Shopping Centre

Oct. 3: 11a.m. 7p.m.

Oct. 4:11a.m. 6p.m.

Oct. 5: Noon 6p.m.

• Polo Park Shopping Centre

Oct. 3: 11a.m. 7p.m.

Oct. 4:11a.m. 6p.m.
