London duo Loud Luxury to perform at 2019 Junos

Dance music duo Loud Luxury will perform in their hometown for next year's Juno Awards, which are set for March 17 inLondon, Ont.

The Canadian Academy of Recordings Arts and Sciences (CARAS), alongside CBCMusic made the announcementThursday in the city, saying tickets for the event would go on sale at the end of the month.

"We're putting the Juno Awards on sale here at Budweiser Gardens," CARASPresident and CEO Allan Reid said Thursday.

Reid also used the opportunity to announce what he called "a huge donation" to MusiCounts, a charity that helps raise money for underfunded school music programs around the country.

"The host committee has raised $100,000 for MusiCounts," he said, noting that a dollar from the service fees on ticket sales at each of London's three Junos venues will go to the charity.

Reid also introduced Loud Luxury at the announcement, a homegrown act he said hasbeen setting the "dance world on fire."

"We are thrilled to welcome an amazing local success to the JUNOS stage and we can't wait for everyone to see what they have in store," he said.

The duois make up of Andrew Fedyk and Joe De Pace,both graduates of Western University. Sinceleaving school, they'veearned accolades for their music, which they have described as "deep house with a shot of tequila."

"We're so excited to be here," Andrew Fedyk told the crowd of mostly music and public relations professionals gathered at Budweiser Gardens Thursday.

"We grew up watching this as kids, dreaming of being up there one day. So to have this opportunity and do it in a place where it all started for us, I don't think there's any better feeling."

"Obviously I'm from London, so this is extremely special for me," said Joe De Pace. "We're truly blessed to here."

While the duo has only a handful of releases, including the seven-time platinum Bodyand their latest single Love No More,they've been turning heads in the music world and have performed more than 150 concerts across the continent.

The48thannual music festival brings together the best in Canadian talent with an entire week dedicated to live shows, songwriter circles and other events for fans.

The Juno Awards take place in London at the city's largest venue Budweiser Gardens on Sunday, March 17, 2019.

Tickets go on sale Nov. 30.
