London police are investigating a Saturday shooting that sent one man to hospital with serious injuries.

Police said it happened at about 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of Trafalgar Street and Admiral Drive.

Police said the victim was driving his vehicle when he stopped at the intersection.

That's when the driver of a white sedan pulled up alongside the victim's vehicle and discharged a firearm at him, striking him.

Police said the suspect then fled westbound on Trafalgar Street "at a high rate of speed."

The victim was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injures.

Police are now searching for the suspect vehicle, believed to be a Chevrolet Cruze. It had damage on the driver's side and front bumper, as well as a smashed out front passenger window.

Police suggest that prior to the shooting, the suspect vehicle was being driven "erratically and at a high rate of speed" in the area.
