Police are saying little about the circumstances surrounding the death of a person and why they've charged a man with second-degree murder.

Nicholas Russell-Ewanation, 28, remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing after being charged Tuesday for an incident that took place in Middlesex Centre.

Middlesex County OPP said a person was found dead in a home on Carriage Road, south of Komoka, after officers were called to the address after 9 a.m.

They have not released the identity of the deceased or said whether a weapon was used.

What police are telling the public is that there is no immediate threat to the community, but to expect an increased police presence in the area. They are also asking the public for information about the alleged homicide.

In a statement, OPP said the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Middlesex County OPP Crime Unit at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
