Suspect in northeast London shooting ID'd by police

London police have identified the person they believe is responsible for a shooting that sent one man to hospital with serious injuries on Wednesday.

The individual's current whereabouts are still unknown, police said

London police have identified the person they believe is responsible for a Wednesday shooting that sent one man to hospital with serious injuries.

In a media release Friday afternoon, police said a warrant has been issued for the arrest ofCody M Leblanc Ashe, 28, of London, who now facesone charge of attempted murder.

Ashe's current whereabouts are still unknown, police said.

The accused is wanted for allegedly shooting another person on Wednesday at around 4:20 p.m. ET, and fleeing the scene before officers arrived. The shooting happened at a public housing complex on Boullee Street operated by London-Middlesex Community Housing.

Following the shooting, police said the accused may have fled the scene in a red vehicle. He's described as a Black male, 6-foot-4, about 230 pounds andwith black hair. The accused is also described as having black scruffy facial hair, a goatee and brown eyes.

Police are urging residents to avoid approaching the suspect if seen as he is considered armed and dangerous and to call 911 immediately.
