1 person dead following house fire in east London

One person has died asemergency crews worked to put out a house fire Tuesday morning in a neighbourhood off of Cheapside Street in London.

A second person was transported to hospital to be treated for undetermined injuries

One person has died asemergency crews worked to put out a house fire Tuesday morning in a neighbourhood nearCheapside Street and Clarke Road in east London.

The London Fire Department said it first received a call about a working fire at approximately 8:40 a.m. to a home on Nairn Avenueand Sorrell Road.

"Upon arrival, two people were located inside the home," said London Police Const. Sandasha Bough in a statement."One individual was located deceased, and another transported to hospital by paramedic services with undetermined injuries."

The name of the dead has not been released.

Police said the investigation was in the early stages, and the cause of the fire had not been determined.
