Waterloo region pilot involved in plane crash in Tobermory

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a plane crash at the TobermoryAirport that involved apilot and a plane from Waterloo region.

Bruce Peninsula OPP said in press release Tuesday morning they were dispatched to a flipped over plane at the Tobermory Airport onWarner Bay Road just before 10 p.m. Monday.

Police said around 8 p.m., a whiteCesena 172 Seahawkplane was attempting to land on the runway,but due to the amount of snow the wheels got caught and the plane flipped.

The lone male pilot, from Cambridge, exited the plane without any injuries.

The plane, which is owned by a company in Breslau,sustained significant damage as a result of the collision.

OPP have asked anyone with information to contact Bruce Peninsula OPP.
