Second person arrested in connection to April shooting in Waterloo

A 23-year-old man from the Greater Toronto Area is been charged with discharging a firearm with intent to endanger life and aggravated assault. The charges stem from a shooting at a plaza on King Street N., near University Avenue East on April 19.

A second person has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Waterloo in April, regional police say.

A 23-year-old man from the Greater Toronto Area has been charged with discharging a firearm with intent to endanger life and aggravated assault.

The charges stem from a shooting at a plaza on King Street N., near University Avenue East on April 19.

Waterloo regional policesay 30 bullets were fired at a Subway restaurant around 2 a.m.

A 26-year-old Toronto-area man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two women who were in the restaurant were also taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

A dark coloured SUV with multiple people in the vehicle was seen fleeing the area.

Police believe it was a targeted shooting.

The arrest, which happened on Friday, came two weeks aftera17-year-old male from Waterloo was arrested and chargedin connection to the same incident.

Police are continuing to investigate and have asked for the public's help in identifying two other people. Both are described as male, between the ages of 19 and 25.

One was wearing a blue hooded puffy vest, black pantsand white shoes at the time of the shooting. The other male was wearing a black hoodie, grey pants and black shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
