Waterloo police break up 'kegger' near Wilfrid Laurier campus

Police crashed a house party in Waterloo on Sunday, sending 300 people home and seizing a keg of beer.

Investigators say the party happened on Brighton Street, a small street lined with a mix of family and student rental homes east of the Wilfrid Laurier University campus.

Police won't say how they found out about the party, only that "information was obtained" that someone was charging a cover to get into a house on Brighton Street, according toa Waterloo Regional Police news release published Monday.

Officers sent about 300 people home and seized one keg of beer, according to police.

Police say a 22-year-old man faces a number of liquor charges.
