Guelph gets 1 of Ontario's first 4 cannabis stores

Guelph will be the home ofone ofOntario's firstcannabisretail stores,theLCBOand Ontario Cannabis Storeannounced Wednesday.

It will be located at 304Stone Rd., right across from Stone Road Mall.

The other three locations announced are on GerrardStreet in Toronto,GardinersRoad in Kingston andHarbour Expressway in Thunder Bay.

Through municipal engagements with the LBCO,input fromlocal areas of interest was used to pinpoint the first fourlocations, said the release.

Entrance lobby separate from retail space

IDs will be checked and no one under 19 will be allowed to enter the main retail store, and stores are being designed with a lobby area, before individualsenter the main retail space.

Stores will be equipped to provideconsumers product andhealth information, as well as information on federal guidelines.

Forty more stores are expected to open this year with another 40 by July 2019.Theprovince has plans to set up 150cannabis retail stores by 2020.
