Daniel Trask remembered as avid outdoorsman

Daniel Trask, the Waterloo man who went missing three years ago in the northern Ontario wilderness, was remembered yesterday as an avid outdoorsman.

Daniel Trask, the Waterloo man who went missing over three years ago in the northern Ontario wilderness,was remembered yesterday as an avid outdoorsman.

Trask's body was found a week ago near Lady EvelynLake, closeto the city ofTemiskamingShores.

A memorial was held for Trask at Kitchener'sGolf Steak House on Sunday.

Trask was 28 at the time he went missing in November 2011. His car was foundon Red Squirrel Roadnear Camp Wanapitei, a youth canoe camp, on Lake Temagami'sFerguson Bay.

Ken Schade, Trask's uncle, saidthat the lack of answers was hard on Trask's mother.

"They spent a lot of time searching for him and his body. When they found it, it brought peace to her, so actually it's a closure thing. Today is a celebration," he said.

Yesterday's memorial also coincided with Trask's birthday.He would have been 32.
