1 COVID-19 testing clinic open Christmas Day in Waterloo region

The COVID-19 testing clinic run by St. Mary's General Hospital at 50 Bathurst Dr. in Waterloo is the only local clinic open on Friday, Christmas Day.

The clinic, which does tests by appointment only, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Same day appointments are possible and pre-registration for testing begins each morning at 7 a.m.

All other days, including New Year's Day, the clinic will run regular hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The other clinics in the region will either be closed or running holiday hours over the next few days.

The drive-thru testing clinic at the former bus terminal on Charles Street in downtown Kitchener, which is run by Grand River Hospital, is open:

• Dec. 24 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• Dec. 26 to Dec. 30 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Dec. 31 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Appointments made on Dec. 24 will be for Dec. 26. Likewise, appointments made Dec. 31 will be for Jan. 2.

TheWestmount Walk-in clinic in Waterloo is open until noon on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Otherwise it will be closed from Dec. 25 to Dec. 30 and also on Jan. 1. Regular hours resume on Jan. 2.

In Cambridge, the clinic run by Cambridge Memorial Hospital at 215 Holiday Inn Dr. will be open:

• Dec. 24, 26 and 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Dec. 28 to 31 from 8:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Jan. 1 to 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In Guelph, the clinic at 400 Southgate Dr.will be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. The testing clinic will be open holiday hours on Dec. 24, 26, 27, 28 and 31 from 8:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

The other days, the clinic is open usual hours, 8:15 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.
