A 19-year-old man has been arrested as part of an investigation into a shooting in Cambridge this week.

On Wednesday at 12:30 a.m., officers with the Waterloo Regional Police Service were called to the area of Can-Amera Parkway and Franklin Boulevard for reports of a shooting.

No victim was located, but police believe a man sustained an injury. That person was seen fleeing the area. Police are still attempting to locate the victim.

Police said there were four males who fled the area in a white rental van.

They were also hoping to talk to a man and woman who were in the area at the time.

The 19-year-old was arrested on Thursday as police executed a search warrant on Cowan Boulevard in Cambridge. During the search, officers seized a firearm, ammunition andcurrency as well as suspected drugs.

The investigation is ongoing. WRPS asks anyone with information to call officers at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
