Cambridge MPP Belinda Karahalios announced Friday the province is giving Cambridge Memorial Hospital an additional $1.49 million in funding.

The investment is to help improve quality of care, help keep the hospital sustainable and pay for existing core services.

It's part of $68 million in additional funding the government says it is giving to small and medium-sized hospitals across the province.

Karahalios said in a release the money shows the government "is supporting high-quality and timely access to health care, while delivering on our commitment to end hallway health care."
