Waterloo teen arrested in connection to Subway shooting in April

A 26-year-old Toronto-area man and two other people were injured in a shooting in a Subway restaurant in Waterloo on April 19. Police have now arrested a 17-year-old male from Waterloo as part of the investigation.

A 17-year-old male from Waterloo has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a plaza on April 19, police say.

Police say 30 bullets were shotat a Subway restaurant around 2 a.m. on April 19.A 26-year-old Toronto-area man was shot and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Two other people in the restaurant were also taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Police said they believed it was a targeted shooting.

In a release, police said the teen was arrested in Toronto on Friday at 1:30 a.m. and has been charged with discharging a firearm with intent to endanger life and aggravated assault.

The same teen is facing charges related to a collision on Fairway Road in Kitchener that happened on Thursday.

He's been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The teen cannot by law be identified.

Police say they are searching for two other suspects in the shooting. They were between the ages of 19 and 25.

At the time of the shooting, one was wearing a blue hooded puffy vest, black pantsand white shoes. The other male was wearing a black hoodie, grey pants and black shoes.

Police say if the two men are spotted they should not be approached and people should call 911 immediately.
