Man, 52, charged with 2nd-degree murder after stabbing in St. Catharines, police say

A 52-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after a man was killed in St. Catharines on Thursday, Niagara Regional Police say.

Police have identified the victim as 57-year-old Courtney Thomas of St. Catharines

A 52-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after a manwas killed in St. Catharines on Thursday, Niagara Regional Police say.

Police say they were called to the area of Niagara Street and Church Street just before 10 p.m. for a stabbing.

When emergency crews arrived they found a male with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the victim was transported to an out-of-region hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Late Friday police identified the victim as 57-year-old Courtney Thomas of St. Catharines.

According to police, the 52-year-old man was quickly identified and arrested.

The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Friday.
