Indie electro-rock band takes centre stage at this years James Street North music and arts festival

Indie electro-rock band Passion Pit will headline this years Supercrawl.

Organizers of James Street North's annual music and arts festival confirmed that the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based quintet takes the main stage on Saturday, September 14 at 10:30pm.

Passion Pit, best known for the song "Take A Walk" as well as lesser known hits "The Reeling" and "Sleepyhead," sold out New York Citys Madison Square Garden in February 2013, and were the musical guests on NBCs Saturday Night Live last October.

Since the band formed in 2007 it has released two studio albums, 2009s Mannersand 2012s Gossamer. Gossamerreached #4 on the Billboard Top 100 Album chart.

Supercrawl spokesperson Sean Palmerston announced that Hamiltons Lee Harvey Osmonds September 14 performance includes guest appearances by Amy Helm (daughter of The Band's Levon Helm), Michael Timmins of the Cowboy Junkies and award-winning Toronto blues singer Paul Reddick. The band performs on Supercrawl's new waterfront stage at Pier 8 (Discovery Centre).

Other musical acts that have been confirmed for this year's festival includeAbigail Richardson-Schulte performance,Hamilton alt-country collectiveFry Truck, local electronic duoIllitryand from Montreal,francophone rock groupLes Trois Accords.

This years Supercrawl takes place over two days, Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14, and features shows on four main stages.
