Tim Bosma trial: Marlena Meneses, co-accused's ex-girlfriend, gives more testimony

Mark Smich's lawyer has begun hiscross-examination of his client's ex-girlfriend, a day after Marlena Meneses detailed their stormy relationship.

At the trial of two men accused of killing Hamilton man Tim Bosma,Thomas Dungey was out to present positive parts of the relationship: how Smich encouraged Meneses to go back to school and helped get her off cocaine. The questioning also touched on her distrust of co-accused Dellen Millard.

Smich, 28, ofOakville, Ont., and Millard, 30, of Torontoare charged with first-degree murder. Both have pleaded not guilty.

Meneses, 22, told Ontario Superior Court in Hamilton earlier this week that shewanted to marry Smichand have his child, even though hewas abusive and wanted her to become a stripper to help support him.

Bosma, a 32-year-old father of onewho lived in the suburbanAncasterarea, vanished May 6, 2013, after taking two men on a test drive of a pickup truck he was trying to sell.

Last week, Menesestestified that Smich told her Millardshot and killed Bosma.

Menesessaidshe hasn't spoken to Smich since he was taken into custody.Meneses was arrested at the same time, but was never charged.
