Driver goes more than twice the limit in 50km/hr zone, charged with stunt driving

A 20-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with stunt driving after caught going 112km/hr in a 50km/hr zone. The incident happened Tuesday night.

A 20-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with stunt driving after police say theycaught him going more than doublethe speed limit.

On Tuesday shortly before 11:00 p.m.Hamilton Police noticed a 2018 Infiniti drivingfastas it passed other vehicles.

Police say the carwas goingeastbound on Main Street West approaching Hess Street South.

Police say they recordedthe car going112km/hr in a50km/hr zone.

"Driving 112 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone in your 2018 Infiniti is going to get you unwanted attention," said police.

Along with the stunt driving charge, the man's car has been impounded for a week and his licence has been suspended for a week as well.

The driver is scheduled for a court appearance Jan. 3.
