Hamilton man charged with child porn possession

A Hamilton man is facing child pornography charges after a multi-jurisdictional investigationtraced evidence ofillicit images of a child to a Hamilton IP address.

Hamilton police say they were tipped off by the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre that someone in Hamilton was in possession of child porn and had uploaded it to a website.

"The device used for the upload was identified as being from a Hamilton address," a police news release reads.

On Thursday, local officers executed a search warrant at a Hamilton home, where a number of electronic devices were seized.

"A forensic examination of the seized electronic devices is ongoing," police say.

A 29-year-old Hamilton man was charged with possession of child pornography.
