Taylor Swift fan sums up feelings in just four words

Kids can be shy around strangers.

Especially strangers with big microphones and scary TV cameras.

But Ava Hadfield did her best on Tuesday evening.

As she waited with her parents outside Rexall Place, just minutes away from meeting her idol, the little girl in the wheelchair tried to answer every question.

"What do you like about Taylor Swift?"

"She's nice," Ava said.

"Are you really excited to meet her tonight?"

"Yes," Ava said.

"What's your favourite Taylor Swift song?"

"Trouble," Ava said.

And thus, with four carefully chosen words, Ava herself seemed to have no 'trouble' summing up her feelings about an experience that must have been a bit overwhelming.

Five year olds are not supposed to have bucket lists.

But Ava has terminal brain cancer. She was diagnosed in December 2012, and since then her life has been a series of surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Ava's father, Jason Hadfield, said the family was very grateful for the kindness shown to their daughter.

"These moments, and checking these things off her bucket list, it's what we have to do," he said. "It's her dreams, her wishes, and we have no choice but to make sure they're fulfilled the best we can."
