RCMP investigate man's death on Sunchild First Nation reserve

A man is dead after being found injured Friday night on Sunchild First Nation. RCMP were called to the community approximately 60 kilometres northwest of Rocky Mountain House around 9 p.m. for a report of an injured man.

A man is dead after being found injured Friday night at a gas station on the Sunchild First Nation reserve.

RCMP were called to thecommunity approximately60 kilometresnorthwest of Rocky Mountain House around 9 p.m. for a report of an injured man at the Sunchildgas station.

The victimsuffered serious, life-threatening injuries in an altercation, RCMP said in a media release Sunday.

He was taken to hospitalwhere he later died. He has not been identified.

Investigation led police to a home and surrounding area on the O'ChieseFirst Nation reserve, the release said.

Police took several suspectsinto custody from the home.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday in Edmonton.

The RCMPmajor crimes unit continues to investigate.
