Hobbema, Alta., teen died from gunshot wounds

Ateenager found dead in the Samson Cree Nation in Hobbema, Alta., on Dec. 24 died from gunshot wounds, the RCMP said Tuesday.

Preston Thom, 15, was the secondperson killed in Hobbema recently.

The medical examinerdetermined the cause of death after anautopsy.

Officers from the RCMP Maskwacis detachment in Hobbema, along with a canine team, responded to a complaint of shots being fired in a residential area on Christmas Eve.

They found Thom, who waspronounced dead in the early evening. The investigation is continuing.

In a separate incident,a teenager from the community was charged with second-degree murder after a man was found dead early Dec. 10 at his home on the Ermineskin First Nation.
