Removal of Cloverdale Bridge underway

Crews are now working to remove the Cloverdale Footbridge.

Tawatin Bridge is expected to be completed in 2019, with Valley Line LRT services beginning December 2020

The Cloverdale Footbridge will soon be no more.

The bridge is beingremoved and demolished in nine sections over the next several days, depending on the weather.

Components of the bridge will be recycled.

In preparation forthe removal of the footbridgeand the construction of new Tawatin Bridge, bermshave beenconstructed in the North Saskatchewan River to holdtwo 300-ton cranes.

Work on the bridge will continue seven days a weekbetween 7a.m. and 9p.m. Monday to Saturdayand 9a.m. to 7 p.m.Sundays.

The Tawatin Bridge is expected to becompleted in 2019 with the Valley Line LRT services beginningin December 2020.
