RCMP advise evacuation near Lodgepole wildfire

Drayton Valley RCMP are warning about a wildfire burning near Lodgepole Alta,. about 30 kilometresoutside of Drayton Valley.

They say the fire, estimated to be between 5 and 8 hectares in size,is burning near Range Road 91 and that high winds are a "major concern".

The fire is travelling northeast and that several homes in the area have been placed on short notice to evacuate.

RCMPare advising that people should evacuate the area.
