The Pope's positive remarks about gays in the church are being welcomed in Edmonton

The comments made by Pope Francis about not judging gay priests for their sexual orientation are being welcomed in Edmonton.

The Pope made the remarks on Sunday while responding to aquestion at a news conference.

"If a person is gay and seeks God and has good will, who am I to judge him?" he said.

"The catechism of the Catholic Church explains this very well. It says they should not be marginalized because of this [orientation] but that they must be integrated into society."
