Missing hunters found alive near Hinton

Two men found alive and in apparent good health after going missing while on a hunting trip Saturday.

Two men who went missing on the McLeod River near Hinton Saturday have been found alive and in apparent good health.

The men were part of a group of hunters that set up camp Saturday morning on the edge of the river.

Thepair intended to take a short trip down the river in an inflatable dinghy, to be later picked up by the rest of the group.

Police were called in when the men could not be found. A patrol of the area was done, but ground and air searches were held off because of darkness.

The men were found shortly before 1:00 p.m. MT Sunday at a farm just off the river, about 24 kilometres from where they were last seen.

RCMP say the men appeared to be healthy but were taken to a health centre in Hinton as a precaution.
