Mercer Warehouse a creative, social hub after revamp

The old Mercer Warehouse on 104th Street was nearly empty for decades until a massive renovation turned it into one of the hippest hangouts in downtown Edmonton.

Today, the Mercer is home to a pub, coffee house and Startup Edmonton, a workspace and incubator for small-business owners.

The prospects are bright for the new space, which is right across the street from the future downtown arena and entertainment district.

The CBCs Portia Clark recently took a tour of the building with Devin Pope, project manager for the warehouse transformation and one of the owners of the Mercer Tavern.
