Holocaust survivor Eva Olsson visits McKernan School

Eva Olsson was 19 when she was sent with her family to Auschwitz during the Second World War. She now travels and uses stories from her experiences to promote tolerance and compassion. During a tour of Alberta, she spoke on Monday to junior high students at McKernan School.

Eva Olsson describes her experience upon arrival in the Auschwitz concentration camp. The 91 year-old holocaust survivor tells students of McKernan School her story of the suffering inside the camp.

It was an important history lesson from someone who lived through it.

Eva Olsson was 19 when her family was sent to Auschwitz, the infamous Nazi death camp, during the Second World War. She survived, but many in her family did not.

At 91, Olsson now travels and uses stories from her experiences to promote tolerance and compassion. During a tour of Alberta, she spoke Monday to junior high students at McKernan School.

About 400 students rangedpacked the gymnasium, and listened in silence as Olsson told her story.
