When it comes to spud production, Alberta is one hot potato.

According to data from Statistics Canada, Alberta accounted for 21.8 per cent of all potato production in this countryin 2022 more than 1.2 million tonnes in all. Alberta was the top producer in Canada that year, edging out Prince Edward Island and Manitoba.

Numbers show Alberta production continues to increase.
