Alberta legislature finally turns on the taps at popular fountains

The legislatures water features are usually working by the May long weekend, but a leaky underground pipe discovered May 20 had to be repaired before opening the taps for the 2016 season.

After four weeks of repairs that cost $15,000, the fountains are flowing again at the Alberta legislature.

On Monday, Premier Rachel Notley announced on Twitter thatthe fountains were flowing again.

The repairs cost the government $15,000.

The fountains and wading pools are a favourite spot for families to cool off on hot summer days.
