Snowstorm ends Calgary's streak of spring-like weather on St. Patrick's Day

So much for the luck of the Irish.

The return of winter weather Thursday morning broughtCalgary's streak of spring-like conditions to an end, just in time for St. Patrick's Day.

Blowing snowreduced visibility and made for aslow commute on several major routes in andaround the city as a spring storm movedaround the area.

Calgary Transit tweeted that the snowy conditions causeddelays on most bus routes.

EMS officials said they responded to about 10 collisions by 7 a.m., most of them without injuries.

Commuters report slow-moving traffic from Airdrie to Calgary along the QEII,and within the city onDeerfoot Trail.
