Tens of thousands raised in horrific animal abuse case

A reward offered for finding the person or people responsible after a dog and cat were found dead with their mouths taped shut has surpassed $43,000.

A veterinary clinic put up a reward for information to find the person who taped shut the mouth of a dog and a cat that were found dead.

A reward offered for finding the person or people responsible after a dog and cat were found dead with their mouths taped shut has surpassed $34,000.

As of Sunday at 1 p.m. MT, $43,101had been raised.

A Siberian husky and a six-month-old kitten were found a week apart in aWillow Park alley, just 10 metres apart.

Calgary veterinary clinic Vets to Go came forward with a $5,000 reward Thursday for anyone with information that would lead to an arrest in the case.

A website soliciting donations has almost raisedthe reward to four times its original amount.

People have just been inundating us by email and phone, on our Facebook page, basically saying, I want to support, where can I send money, how can I contribute? says the clinic's' Greg Habstritt

Anyone who recognizes either animal or has any information is encouraged to contact the Calgary Humane Society protection and investigations department at 403-205-4455.
